The family includes John Holmes of Belfast, banker; Robert Holmes of Dublin,goldsmith; Hugh Holmes of Antigua; Robert Holmes, barrister
Nathaniel Holmes of Antrim (d. 1750):
His descendants married into the Holmes family of Belfast.
Holmes of Ardvarnock:
These families settled near Convoy, county Donegal.
