John Holmes descendant’s include Chief Justice of Ireland Hugh Holmes, and John and Valentine Holmes of Philadelphia. The family is almost certainly related to the Holmes familes of Navenny, Glencovit, Dreenan and Ballybofey. They are also very probably related to the Holmes of Strabane, brewers.
