Whereas I sometime ago made an arrangement with my son WILLIAM Holmes for certain lands informerly held by me on the townlands of Ballyprior and Drumagurland in Islandmagee aforesaid, together with certain .. stock and other chattels partly in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear to him and partly in consideration of a certain sum of money part of which is still indebted to me and for which I hold his bond and note I therefore consider my said son WILLIAM Holmes to a great extent provided for he having had possession of said lands and chattels for upwards of four years and I now therefore make this my will chiefly in reference to the remainder of my family. First I give, devise and bequeath to my dear wife Elizabeth whatever interest I am possessed of in Annaville House and farm which I at present reside with stock crop and household furniture and all other chattels which may be there at my decease, save and except money and securities for money, to be at her disposal in any way she pleases. Second, I give and bequeath to my executors hereinafter named the farm in Monkstown, parish of Carnmoney which I hold under the Marquis of Donegall upon trust for the following purposes that is to pay the rents or profits arising therefrom to my dear wife Elizabeth during her life, her receipt to be sufficient discharge for same, and I direct that my executors or trustees shall let or manage said farm as they in their absolute discretion may think fit without being label to any impeachment for waste and at the decease of my said wife I direct my trustees to give said farm in Monktown to my son WILLIAM to be freely possessed by hime with full power to sell or dispose of the same as he pleases after he pays to my trustees such sum or sums of money which he may be due to me at my decease which I hereby charge as a lien upon said farm until discharged therefrom by my trustees of the survivor of them as said sum or sums of money constitutes the principal part of my assets. Third I order and direct my executors to appoint or set apart the sum of five hundred pounds and invest the same from time upon such security as they think fit and pay the interest or annual profits or produce thereof to my daughter ANN JANE during her life for her own sole and separate use and benefit and free from the debts contracts or control of her present or any future husband and so that she can have no power to alienate or anticipate the same but she may dispose of the same at her decease in such manner as she by her last will and testament may direct and failing her making such will I direct said sum to go to such one or more of her children as may live to attain the age of 21 years shall share and share alike the interest thereof during their minority to be applied to their benefit in such a manner as my executors think fit, but if my daughter dies without leaving lawful issue or maiking a will I direct said principal sum of five hundred pounds to go to and be divided between my son William and my daughter ELIZABETH share and share alike if they be then living the issue os such as may be dead to take the same share as their decceased parent would have been entitled to if living.
